CSR1000v problem

Post by barryoff » Mon Mar 09, 2020 9:24 pm

Hi,

I've been trying to run a lab with csr1000v-universalk9.17.01.01.iso.

twice i've made a lab with 20 CSR routers. R8 boots fine for the first time. however, the next day when i boot my lab. R8 will not start, no configuration changes have been made to R8. All of the other 19 CSR devices are dine, and the 5 Nexus 9ks are fine.

the terminal looks like below. I've also tried deleting the node and reading it, the same thing happens the next day when i go to load my lab.

Is anyone able to help why this one device keeps crashing?

Thanks in advance

It is not an issue, just visual warnings during the boot.
It happens because we had to be forced to use vmxnet3 network interfaces to support dot1q
overall it is not issue and CSR works very ok

Hi Uldis,

Thanks for getting back to me.

This is a problem. the node never boots, it hangs here. even after waiting 45 minutes it's still stuck here.

what's odd is that the others work, and in two labs now i've had the same issue with R8

no node boots for sure..
First, node must be prepared from ISO

Second what is your CPU Intel or AMD?

The other 19 nodes, which are the same, boot fine.

the CPU is a intel xeon

Hi Uldis,

The chassis has two Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2690.

R8 won't boot even if it's the only node booted. Eve-ng seems to be corrupting the images.

Thanks

on your cpu based eve any CSRv100 will work..
simply made bad image, missed something..whatever

Your EVE is 100% OK with any newest CSRv1000
If still not ok, join in EVE live chat to talk with me or even have remote session mate...

This problem has been fixed thanks to the great help on the live helpdesk. I was setting the boot system. There is no need for this. It was breaking the bootup
