How to re-install Master in a EVE-cluster

Post by kmueller68 » Fri Sep 22, 2023 5:50 am

Hello.

I have a EVE-NG Pro cluster with a Master and 4 Satellites.

I have to replace the Master node against a new installed Master node because of necessary changes in disk size (shrinking).

Is it possible to setup a new Master, copy all data from the old to the new Master and re-register the Satellites to the new master?

Thank you very much for your help,
Karl

Yes possible
1. First install new master server then use this method to migrate data
https://www.eve-ng.net/wp-content/uploa ... E-Host.pdf

2. Then deactivate License on old master
EVE-PRO license de-activation on EVE host

Log in in EVE CLI:

Type 3 commands:

cd /opt/unetlab/html/
rm eve-ng.lic
cp eve-ng.nolic eve-ng.lic

PROCEDURE TO RE-INSTALL EVE-PRO Machine:

3. Upload your license to the new master
4. join satellites
