Removing Disk Procedure

Post by nbctcp » Fri Jan 19, 2018 4:55 am

Hi,

SW:
-VMware Workstation 14
-EVE-NG latest

PROBLEM:
-when reboot it boot to busybox

I am following this to extend disk on latest EVE-NG
http://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/documen ... -on-eve-vm
That work seamlessly
Previous disk 40GB then I add 100GB, total 140GB
Because I don't need that 100GB anymore then I delete from Workstation
When reboot problem happen as above.

QUESTIONS:
1. how to remove missing disk from current lvg
2. what is the correct procedure to delete disk
2. let say I add 10GB now but later I want to expand that 10GB to 30GB
-should I expand those 10GB disk or
-add another 20GB disk

thanks

you my dear deleted partition, and its very bad.
Recovery is impossible anymore.
Once you did add another disk and started EVE, it automatically expanded partition to the two HDDs, removing second partition you simply broke this setup.

no such removal procedure.

Yes you can add 2nd, 3rd, 4t, 5th HDDs in the EVE.
Expand by 30Gb adding 2ndHDD
Later add another 30Gb adding 3rd hdd.
Better plan your space initially..
