E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I can not update my eve after I install it.

what do I have to do to fix it?

reboot EVE VM and try again.
apt-get update

apt-get upgrade

try proxy：

export http_proxy=http://yourproxyaddress:proxyport

Reboot EVE VM, then

first try ping www.google.com

if it is ok, then you are ready to update
