Other containers in Eve?

I was assisting a friend the other day and he was using Eve and suggested that he should look at SONiC to get an understanding of a router in a container using SAI layer but there seems no way of getting this into docker to use in eve. When i ran docker on his machine it just hung so there was no way to pull the SONIC imge to the machine. Is this normal or is his config just broken?
