iol and interface status

Post by wilco23 » Mon Sep 10, 2018 1:30 pm

Hi,

I am new to eve-ng and I tried with iol layer 3 image. It is simple setup test with 2 routers connect to each eth0/0 with single subnet ip address assigned. When I shutdown R1 eth0/0 interface, R2 eth0/0 is still up and does not aware that R1 interface is down even though it is directly connected. I just want to know whether this is normal with eve-ng and iol or does it need to make any additional setting so that routers will aware of connection link is down?
Below is my test setup. I am using eve-ng community edition.

10.1.1.1/24 10.1.1.2/24
[R1]-eth0/0 <--------------------------->eth0/0-[R2]

I can ping between R1 and R2.

I tried 2 version of iol i86bi-linux-l3-adventerprisek9-15.5.2T.bin and i86bi-linux-l3-adventerprisek9-15.4.2T.bin and both are showing same issue. Is there any particular image version that support layer 1 up and down? Are you saying layer 1 up down does not support with iol?
