qemu version fow Win VM

Post by Richard70 » Wed Jan 02, 2019 7:09 pm

Hi,

I used in order to create a windows VM this Howto:
http://eve-ng.net/documentation/howto-s ... on-the-eve

That worked fine, but I have a question in regards with the qemu version *after* the initial setup.

I mean, in this howto, it is stated that qemu 2.2.0 should be used.
But once the process is completed and that I begin to add new nodes to Eve, the default Qemu version is 2.0.2.
I tested both versions, but couldn't see any difference (VM works).
What is your though on that matter (and by the way what are the differences beetwen both qemu versions ?)

we have set in the template most success version of qemu. Matured..
Newer qemu usually supports features required for new images like vSRX v18, CSR Denali...

For windows nodes it makes no sense, You can use our default set 2.0.2
I tested Winserver 2019 which works fine with older qemu.
