Ryzen support / baremetal install

Post by Richard70 » Sat Feb 02, 2019 10:38 pm

Hi,
does the eve team plan to reconsider their support of the Ryzen platform , and officially support it ?
Do you mind to share some details about what is the source of the issue (linux kernel , 3rd party software, etc ..) ?
Thanks.
Ric

i believe that Ryzen bare will be ok for sure. But until we have not such CPU, I cannot give you 100% answer for it.
I know that guys very successfully running it, Bare EVE.
Last reports were that Ryzen win 10 and VM ware workstation got success 100% as well

Hi,
Does running eve-ng in bare get around "nested" virtualisation issues essentially?
Do you know of anyone running eve-ng on bare, using 2nd gen threadripper?
I'm about to purchase a workstation with a AMD 2990WX processor, and was planning on running it bare. Hoping to run many Cisco images including full 9k , nexus etc).
