Issue with interface names

Post by fdavidcn » Wed Mar 07, 2018 11:01 am

Hi guys

I have a little issue whit interface naming in eve-ng.. Im working with Mikrotik RouterOS images and when i connect 2 nodes for example ether8 of node B to ether1 of node A and set ip addresses to their interfaces, i cant ping between them but if i change the ip address to another interface in node B ping works as expected.

What can be the problem? Thanks!

we need to see the topology and how you connected.

Hi ramindia, here are my test topology:

Image

The problem is only in interface naming, for example in top left corner we have a router called Cliente_01 connected to R1-3 from eth1 to eth8, but if i put this configuration there are no connectivity between them:

Cliente_01 R1-3
eth1---------------eth8
10.0.0.1/30 10.0.0.2/30

I need to assign 10.0.0.1 to another interface until i get response from 10.0.0.2 and the final result can be:

Cliente_01 R1-3
eth4---------------eth8
10.0.0.1/30 10.0.0.2/30

But in Eve, interface still eth1

I think that issue is in interface naming.
