Node is not starting up

Post by irena22 » Fri Feb 02, 2018 2:47 am

So, by following your HowTo’s, I got to the point when a node needs to be started for initial setup.

My HW:
MAC 10.12.6 with i7
16G Memory
VMWare FUSION 10.1.1

Folder permissions (not sure if it makes any difference at this point) before renaming the image

root@eve-ng:/opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/nxosv9k-7.0.3.i5.2# ll
total 766604
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Feb 1 20:22 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Feb 1 16:27 ../
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 784990208 Feb 1 20:23 nxosv-final.7.0.3.I5.1.qcow2*

root@eve-ng:/opt/unetlab/wrappers# /opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper -a fixpermissions

Now:

root@eve-ng:/opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/nxosv9k-7.0.3.i5.2# ll
total 766604
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Feb 1 20:32 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Feb 1 16:27 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 784990208 Feb 1 20:23 sataa.qcow2
root@eve-ng:/opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/nxosv9k-7.0.3.i5.2#

The last step, I need to add the node to the lab. In the Edit menu, I assigned 1 CPU, 128MB RAM, 8 Ethernets, Startup config-None, Delay-0, Console-Telnet, Save.
Next, Node>Start>Open Terminal.

Trying 192.168.4.45...
Connected to 192.168.4.45.
Escape character is '^]'.

Tried Chrome, Safari, FF

Still there…. Nothing.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I got it working with the setup I posted but on the corporate speed which is approximately x10 faster than in my home network. Another issue I experienced was the switch loaded into the loader. Will check later if i7 is having the same issues. Wondering though, do you know if their subscription service offers option connecting to their servers instead of running virtualization on the local machine? I am running VIRL via local client so I don't have to deal with HW resources. It will make sense to pay $100 per year for their HW if they provide decent customer service. Need to ask. Thanks!
