Connect node to internet

Post by lab4ccna » Sat Oct 06, 2018 2:55 pm

First of all, Many thanks for developing this amazing labbing tool.

I am stuck and need help to get my nodes reaching the internet in the lab.
I can ssh/vnc inbound fine.
For example I want to ping 8.8.8.8 from a vIOS router and get connectivity.

Here is my set up:
EVE-NG VM in Google Compute cloud.
The VM itself can ping 8.8.8.8 fine.
But the nodes in the lab can't.

I have added a network type Management(Cloud0) too.

Thanks in advance for help.

EVE cookbook section 10
http://www.eve-ng.net/images/EVE-COOK-BOOK-1.4.pdf

But is cloud version I afraid you have not free pub IP which can be used for EVE node. Cloud VM has single IP which is your management.
Only EVE Pro has NAT cloud where you lab nodes possible NAT to main mgmt interface IP

Hi Uldis,

Thanks for the pointers.

What if I add extra interfaces to my Cloud VM and use it for certain nodes?
I can do this and add more public IPs to them.
If this works how is it done?
My aim is to run a Windows 7 node and RDP to it to do further tasks within the lab.

My Linux knowledge is still not good. Will eventually figure out how to tweak this though.

EVE-NG Pro would be next step once I am fully happy with the free option.

Got this to work now with a tap interface.

Would be nice if it was a built-in feature in community edition as well.
