Native Console: telnet for MAC OSX

Post by mrsanchos » Sun Mar 31, 2019 8:58 pm

Hello,

I installed eve-ng Community edition. All is perfect, but for configuring a lot of Mikrotik devices I want to use SecureCRT. As I correctly understood I should use like "Client integration pack for mac osx" but I can't find it. I found just how figure out with wireshark: Find EVE-client-pack for MAC OS. Also I found EVE-NG Professional Cookbook. In topic 6.1.1 I found that I need:
MAC OSX: You can use your preferred telnet program like the native Terminal, SecureCRT, or others.
Example: Telnet client from the native terminal on MAC OSX. To setup MAC OSX native telnet client please follow section 3.6.3
But in 3.6.3 I didn't see anything how can I configure default telnet program.

Should I replace default telnet-application to SecureCRT for solve this issue? At actually telnet works now but it opens with Terminal. Currently location of telnet-application: # /usr/local/bin/telnet -> ../Cellar/telnet/60/bin/telnet

P.S. MacOS: 10.14.2 (18C54)

After update SecureCRT to 8.5.2 it automatically asked me to install as default telnet-application. So problem solved. Thank you!
