So far I was able to get the vWLC working after hours of working on it because the Service-port will not work or talk on the network.
I advice install your vWLC using the OVA file instead of the ISO file.
It worked well with the OVA File. I was able to tie is to my physcial network, and also got the AP registered on it.

your service port dont talk to network because it must be in same network or if you are accessing to it from diff network, you have to add static route.
Installation from ISO is best way how to get up any vWLC in EVE

While it is impossible for now to emulate any other cisco wireless device with the exception of the vWLC, it should not be a show stopper for your study.
What I have done is to join a physcial WAP to vWLC in eve, then have a test PC - physical or virual on the side to associate with wireless infrastructure.
FYI - the WAP will only associate to the vWLC in FlexConnent mode, it will not do local mode - this limitation is a Cisco thing, not eve.
Hope this helps
