Ability to customize interface names

Post by gregory.brugger » Tue Sep 11, 2018 9:33 am

Currently, with IOL devices it creates interfaces in groups of 4. Itd be nice to have more interfaces available per group suck as up to 24. The interfaces that are added are only Ethernet 10 mb interfaces. It would be nice to see an option to add Ethernet, fastethernet, or gigabit Ethernet interfaces or a combination of them. If possible, it’d be cool to have this customization available across all CLI devices.

Reason behind the feature request: I am working on Narbiks CCIE foundation book. In the L2 topology he is using a combination of fastethernet and gigabit Ethernet interfaces to paint the picture on how STP selects port roles.

It is not question to EVE, but to Cisco.
It is such cisco image and I suppose they will not change it...
IOL or vISO both having 4 port modules...

So use what they have

Sorry
