Hello,

I need help in configuring vlans and vtp on IOL switches, i do not even see that option. Can someone please assist and let me know if i am missing anything here. I am using below IOS. Thansk in advance

IOS = i86bi-linux-l3-adventerprisek9-15.4.2T.bin
i86bi-linux-l2-ipbasek9-15.1g.bin

First image is not switch at all!
IOS = i86bi-linux-l3-adventerprisek9-15.4.2T.bin
IT IS Router, and simply cannot have VLANs or VTP.

Second looks like is is Switch image, but you have to make sure if you are set proper image for node in lab use.

I am not sure which image you are using, however i am using "i86bi-linux-l2-adventerprisek9-15.2d" and it worked fine for me.


Switch(config)#vtp ?
domain Set the name of the VTP administrative domain.
file Configure IFS filesystem file where VTP configuration is stored.
interface Configure interface as the preferred source for the VTP IP updater
address.
mode Configure VTP device mode
password Set the password for the VTP administrative domain
pruning Set the administrative domain to permit pruning
version Set the administrative domain to VTP version
