I'm looking for thoughts on a build I'm putting together specifically to run EVE-NG Pro Baremetal. This is to support my CCIE Security studies.
Please can you let me know your thoughts on this spec for this use case?
- CPUs: 2x Intel Xeon E5-2660v4 (14-core, 28 threads each)
- Motherboard: Asus Z10PE-D16 WS
- CPU Cooling: 2x Noctua NH-D9DX i4
- RAM: 4x Samsung M393A4K40CB2-CTD (32GB DDR4 DIMMs - brand is tbc, could go 8x 16GB instead)
- PCi-E Storage Adapter: Asus Hyper M.2 X16 Gen-4 (I'm aware the Motherboard only has Gen 3 capabilities)
- Case: Fractal Design Series 7 XL
- Storage 1: 4x Samsung 970 EVO M.2 1GB (RAID 1 or 10)
- Storage 2: 4x Samsung 860 EVO SATA 2GB (RAID 10)
- PSU: Corsair AX1000 (or similar)
