Windows 10 Build 2004 and Aruba CX

Post by jonasz » Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:52 am

Hello,
I wanted to share my problem with EVE-NG that I was able to fix, apparently with the Build 2004 (Windows 10) changed the usage of ACPI implementation, even though I wasn't able to conform it in the change logs. But after the update to the new build, I wasn't able to start the Aruba CX 10.02 and newer builds. The start of the machine failed with the ACPI+Timer Synchro Failure message.

Lab:
EVE-NG:2.0.3-109
CPU:Ryzen 3900x
RAM:96 GB DDR4 2866 MHz
RAID: Controller AMD B550

Solution:
Qemu option needed:
-machine type=pc-1.0, hmat=on, accel=kvm -serial none -nographic -nodefconfig -nodefaults -display none -vga std -rtc base=utc -cpu host -smp 3,sockets=1
(hmat=on, activates feature set ACPI Heterogeneous Memory Attribute Table)
