Problem with node name in Putty

Post by yoda » Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:49 pm

I am running two versions of eve-ng on an ESXi server:
EVE Community: 2.0.3-95
EVE-PRO: 3.0.1-16-PRO

When i open a telnet session to a router or switch in both versions in Native console, Putty opens as expected with the correct node name.
In the PRO version, with the same lab i have 3 VPCS named PC1, PC2 and PC3, but all 3 of them show in Putty with the name VPC, instead of PC1, PC2 or PC3 as expected.
In the Community version, with a copy of the same lab, the node names for both routers, switches and VPCS are as expected in Putty.
Running both versions in HTML5 console, and with the html telnet console, it works fine with all nodes, and in both the PRO and Community version.

Hope someone can help - thanks

You simply did not install Winclint pack for use of native consoles.
Recheck how you did install your winclinet pack.
and EVE Pro is no difference vs community in this part....
