Installation on Bare Metal fails

Hello all,

I'm trying EVE-NG for the first time and the installation process is failing on me.

I'm booting an Dell PowerEdge R430 in BIOS mode, using the community ISO file (eve-ce-prod-6.0.1-12-full.iso). The server used PERC H730 raid controller and I have a RAID-1 volume setup for this system.

However during the installation I get the following message about mismatching kernel versions right after selecting the mirror archive (ex: deb.debian.org, but it fails for all):

No kernel modules were found. This probably is due to a mismatch between the kernel used by this version of the installer and the kernel version available in the archive.

If you're installing from a mirror, you can work around this problem by choosing to install a different version of Debian. The install will probably fail to work if you continue without kernel modules.

Continue the install without loading kernel modules?

If I proceed with the installation, it doesn't detect any available disk. Looks like the controller's drive hasn't been loaded, causing the raid volume to not show up.

Has anyone encounter such problem before? Ubuntu does install on that system without a problem, but the even-ng iso seems to be missing drives.

EVE CE Full ISO 6.0.1-12 has Bare metal install option..
Also the HDD after you created it in raid 1, must initialized fully for sure to make it clean before go for total BM install

Server was booting wrong ISO - was: Installation on Bare Metal fails

Hi,

Thanks for showing that screenshot, it made me realize my ridiculous mistake: the server was booting the wrong ISO. It wasn't eve-ng after all.
