VMware Fusion fusion for free , or pay for parallels?

Hi all,
replacing my work pc computer by a mini mac. I'll still need to access windows, should I rather get VMware Fusion fusion that seem to be free for personnal usage, or buy a parallels license?
If I go the later, I think I would want to buy the one time purchase and not the yearly subscription. I guess I can get it cheaper on black friday (just hope they start their promotion early if I take the 7 day trial this week...), is there an option to buy an older version if it does the same for me?
