Will I lose the extra features of the pro edition after 12 months ?
this is a deal breaker for me

After 12 month, Pro stop working.... No more ability to stop/start any nodes
2 solutions:
- Buy a new year license
- Rollback to community edition ( but you will loose all PRO features, some elements could dissapear from topologies like Dockers... , QOS settings, Proxy settings etc etc .... )

v. dissapointed , for most things your software subsciption entitles you to updates but does not stop it working.

I agree, this is a major showstopper for me too. I'd strongly suggest to consider introducing a perpetual fallback license - if I don't renew my license, all my previous labs will keep running, I lose access to updates.

You will lose everything, features used in labs with pro.
Labs after roll back will work on EVE community but full restart of eve, anyway need, and revise all labs and remove pro features.
EVE Pro is built in updates model. But not on option: I bought one time and forever..
Even you are saying I wish do not get updates and stay on Pro..
Simply no, such is not possible and will not be
