The features page states a key feature being:

Derivated from Ubuntu LTS 16.04 server for long term support

The release cycle of 16.04 is going EOL this month as it is reaching it's 5 years. Is this a problem?

no, eve community works on ubuntu 16.04 only
ee community migration is planned to ubuntu 18 this summer..
