backup-manager - remote directory - minor error

Post by jgauruder » Fri Apr 19, 2024 1:09 pm

I followed this guide https://www.eve-ng.net/wp-content/uploa ... Server.pdf
and the eve-ng community cookbook Version 5.5

section :
13.1.3 Backup Manager SFTP/FTP settings
the screenshot under this text :
"Select option (e) Edit Backup Server"
and
specifically this statement
"Remote directory: For Linux servers, specify the target directory. The example above is
/sftpuser/. This is the directory where the backup uploads will be stored. "

I found I had to use just type in sftpuser not /sftpuser/ for the remote directory, otherwise I would get a permissions error.

after that, the backup and restore function worked as expected.
Hopefully this bit of info helps someone else and the minor error can be corrected in the next version of the eve-ng community cookbook

Regards,
Jason

type directory in that field need if you have Linux SFTP server configured with specific directory
But if you have simply all rights users accessing to dedicated directory, windows Solarwinds SFTP server or other, this field remains clear, no dir at all
