Script mods for SSH to node consoles?

Post by jlixfeld » Mon Jan 14, 2019 1:53 pm

Hi,

Has anyone managed to modify eve-ng to support ssh to node consoles instead of telnet? For MacOS users (like me), where telnet is removed from the system by default, there are numerous reasons why using brew telnet, or recompiling telnet from source are not possible workarounds (ie: copying telnet or creating a symlink to a SIP protected directory is impossible due to a variety of local issues with the MacOS installation) and using the HTML5 terminal isn't practical because the one-device-per-tab workflow is not efficient when one can use something like iTerm2 and use multiple-pane-in-one-tab for a multiple devices in one window type of workflow. Being able to use ssh to connect to node consoles (as an option) would allow folks who are burdened by these kinds of MacOS issues to still be able to use the system url handler ssh hook to the terminal client of their choice.

Thanks!

We had answered you in live chat..
True, MAC OSX has removed Telnet by default from MAC.
