I just set up a TrueNAS server in my homelab, and I also have an EVE-NG Pro bare-metal server that I plan to use to test different setups and learn more about networking.
Is it possible to install a TrueNAS server on top of EVE-NG? This would just be for testing different network setups.
Can I simply install the ISO on a node in EVE-NG?

yes, it's possible, but I don't see the purpose of it.

The purpose is purely educational. How do I install it? Just upload the ISO?

You need to create a custom template https://www.eve-ng.net/wp-content/uploa ... f#page=262
Or you can copy and rename an existing template freenas in Eve, located in /opt/unetlab/html/templates/intel or /opt/unetlab/html/templates/amd/ (if you have intel cpu then use intel template and if you have amd then use amd). Then you create a directory ie.. freenas-10.x and upload your image to it and set it up.

Okay, thank you. Can i use this same guide to setup a Proxmox ISO on top of my bare-metal EVE-NG installation? It's running on a fairly powerful system.

You can try but you will need to customize a template.

Re: TrueNAS on EVE-NG
Any option you can try, like install ESXi or Proxmox, it will be 3rd layer virtualization on the EVE, because EVE itself is KVM hypervisor.
Well success I suppose you will get, but dot expect to have full features on such.
I did VM Ware ESXi hosts with vCenter and test vMotion on the EVE. Success.
Test was to move running VM from one ESXi1 host to another ESXi2
I guess that if to make external FreeNAS or TrueNAS, and try to setup join such to proxmox, would be ok too.
